Trading Competitions for Cash Prizes: What to Check Before You Enter
Before you play for cash, check the entry cost, opponents, scoring and prize rules. Here is what to look for.
By Size team
A trading competition for cash prizes puts your trading decisions to the test. Before paying to enter, find out how much an attempt costs, how the winner is decided and how the prize is paid.
In Size's cash challenge, you compete against skill-rated bots using a simulated balance and live market prices. Build your score, survive eliminations and finish first to win the selected cash prize.
1. Check the entry cost and the actual prize
Check the cost of one attempt and the total prize for a winner. If the prize is shown as a multiplier, does it include your entry or come on top of it? The terms should make that clear.
Size's selected cash challenge shows its entry cost and prize. Cash prizes can reach 100× the entry, with higher prize multipliers bringing a harder challenge. A maximum multiplier is not a statement of your expected return or likelihood of winning.
2. Understand who you are competing against
Find out who you are playing against. A leaderboard can include bots, other players or a mix; it does not necessarily show other paying customers.
Playing against a bot is different from entering a contest with your own automated strategy. In Size's solo challenge, you make the trading decisions and skill-rated bots are your opponents. You do not need to build a trading bot to take part.
Check who you will play against before entering.
3. Read the scoring and elimination rules
Check whether ranking depends on trading profit alone or on a separate score, and whether other mechanics affect that score.
In Size, simulated trading profits and losses affect your score, and boosts can add points when their conditions are met. At each elimination stage, the lowest-ranked players are removed. You must survive and finish first to win.
A big virtual profit may help your score, but it does not automatically win the prize.
The app shows each offer’s rules, odds and scoring before entry. Trading performance and survival alone do not guarantee a prize. A displayed total cash prize includes the entry.
4. Separate trading profit from the cash award
You cannot withdraw your simulated balance. A profitable trade can help your score, but it is not a cash reward.
In the cash challenge, the selected cash prize is the award for winning the game under its terms. It is separate from the simulated profit displayed while you play. Your entry pays for the challenge; it does not become your trading balance.
Read the prize and payout terms, including who can enter and how withdrawals work, before entering.
5. Use practice to understand the experience
Free practice lets you learn the trading game without a cash prize. It helps you understand the interface, scoring and elimination stages before choosing whether to pay for a challenge.
Practice does not guarantee the result of a later prize challenge. Review its specific difficulty and reward before each entry.
Cash prize or funded account?
Choose the cash challenge when you want to compete for the selected cash award. Choose the funded challenge when you want to compete for a simulated funded account, which has separate trading and payout rules after you win.
