# Game rules

Earn points and stay above the elimination line. The highest-ranked survivor wins.

## Before you start

Read the briefing for your difficulty, entry, and reward.

Every game earns XP, including free practice. In paid play, finishing first also awards the selected cash prize or funded account.

## During a stage

1. Choose a market and open a position.
2. Watch your profit or loss and score.
3. Follow the stage boost's objective.
4. Watch your rank and the time to the next elimination.

Opening, changing, or closing a position can affect your trading points and boost.

## Eliminations

The standard 15-minute format has five three-minute stages. You start alongside nine bots. At each stage end, the lowest-ranked active competitor is eliminated.

One competitor is eliminated every three minutes:

| Time       | Competitors remaining |
| ---------- | --------------------- |
| Start      | 10                    |
| 3 minutes  | 9                     |
| 6 minutes  | 8                     |
| 9 minutes  | 7                     |
| 12 minutes | 6                     |
| 15 minutes | 5                     |

If you're eliminated, your run ends. When the final stage ends, the highest-ranked remaining competitor wins. Surviving to the end does not guarantee a prize.

## Tied scores

If competitors have exactly the same score, an order fixed before the game decides their rank. The player receives no priority. This applies to eliminations and the final result.

## Interrupted games

A connection problem does not guarantee a refund. Reconnect and reopen the existing game to check its status. If you forfeit a paid game, you lose the entry.

If Size voids a cash game because of a platform issue, the entry is refunded. Check the result and refund status before starting another paid game.

See [Score](/docs/gameplay/score.md) and [Boosts and rewards](/docs/gameplay/boosts-and-rewards.md) for points. If a game is interrupted or a result is missing, use [support](/docs/help/support.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://www.size.club/docs/gameplay/game-rules.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
